About Me.

Writing's always been one of my strengths. I've always had a fine attention to detail and ability to write in a structured manner. As a result, I trained in Law at university before making two career switches.

Journalism

I encountered the rare opportunity to convert a passion for sport into a career after graduating. Training for a diploma in sports journalism improved my writing and taught me two crucial skills. The first was being able to write, edit and publish my own copy entirely independently, the second was writing precisely and concisely to incredibly tight deadlines.

During my time in journalism, I had the opportunity to work independently, collaborate with teams (on a local and international level), drive projects, help manage teams and lead a workforce culture team, which included managing budgets.

UX writing

The Coronavirus pandemic presented me with an opportunity to switch careers. As an avid user of technology, this gave me the chance to keep working with and building on my core strengths while working in a new field.

The career move has given me insight into how frontend and backend teams work together to create and refine different products in Agile environments, plus a look into how UX teams collaborate to find holistic solutions. I enjoy using Figma to explore copy and design solutions together, while I'm also happy launching prototypes on Usertesting.com to obtain user feedback before production.
